April 2012 Newsletter

It’s that time of the year again; the Pisquid River Enhancement Project is busy preparing for another busy season of stream enhancement work in the Pisquid, Clark’s Creek, Head of Hillsborough, and Newtown watersheds. We are also looking at expanding our enhancement efforts into the community of Vernon River.
Our work crew will be hired in early June and we already have an extensive list of duties including: tree planting, placement of wood duck boxes, beaver dam removal, brushmat construction, fish passage enhancement, sediment trap excavation, educational signage throughout the watershed, red surveys, and the Lady Slipper Walk in June as part of the Eagle Festival in Mount Stewart.
